About us

Summer cinema

Nyystölä Summer Cinema brings the community together around films on warm summer evenings. All screenings are free and open to everyone. The Nyystölä village association raises the screen in the wonderful setting of Padasjoki Summer Theatre, and the projector starts once the sun has dropped low enough. There's always a great canteen on site with tasty snacks to enjoy during the film. Seating is unnumbered.

What to wear
Dress for a summer night
  • Blanket or sleeping mat. The meadow gets damp in the evening — two blankets beat one.
  • Wool socks and a hat. It drops about 10 degrees once the sun is gone.
  • Rain poncho, not an umbrella. An umbrella blocks the view for people behind you.
  • Repellent and a torch. The walk back across the meadow is dark.
